Quick Note

Folks, I don't know what in the world is going on here. For some odd reason I can't post comments on some Blogger pages while others work just fine. I'm also having trouble staying logged in so I suspect the problem may be on Bloggers end.

This has been going on for the past three or four days and I can't figure out what the problem is. I've even tried using different profiles "Blogger, WordPress, Open ID, etc.) but the frustrations continue.

I'll keep trying but please know that I am reading your blogs and I'm not ignoring you.

Well, I have also discovered that I can't even make a comment on my OWN BLOG! This just has to be a Blogger problem. Just a coincidence that this started up at about the same time the new, barely usable "captcha code" word verification came out? I think not.

This is eerily familiar to those of us who were shunted aside when Windows Live Spaces decided nobody blogs anymore and basically told us to get lost. At least I already have a Word Press blog up and running. It may become my only blog if this keeps up.

Reviewed all my account settings, changed my password, still can't posts comments, not even on my own blog! Can't publish from Live Writer as I've been doing for three years! No problem with publishing or posting comments on Word Press, just Blogger. To be on the safe side I'm going to go through the procedure to export this blog to my hard drive so I don't lose a bunch of material like I did when Live Spaces went down the tubes. At least I can still edit from the dashboard.

I've used Google Chrome exclusively since Firefox started acting up. This laptop came with Chrome pre-installed and I was pleased with that. I have G-mail and Google+ accounts and I've been editing photos for posting online with Picassa, another Google product, for the past couple of years.

Hoping this is just a hiccup in the "improvements" being instituted by Google but I have an odd feeling that Google is paying too much attention to their mobile business and not enough to those of us who are old school.......using PCs instead of "smart" phones.

  1. i switched from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome a few weeks back as i couldn't load certain blogs or comment on them (primarily those w/ 'embed below post' comment settings). using chrome resolved that issue.

i did have a couple of people who used to be able to use Open I.D. say they couldn't comment any longer w/o a google account.

also, 2 folks were recently locked out of their own blogs with messages that their browser was no longer supported by blogger. one tried switching from i.e. to chrome, and it worked. another did the same thing, still didn't work, then finally went to firefox and that worked.

seems to me, google is locking down on a lot of features, trying to funnel folks into using their products or accounts... just my gut.

    1. Okay, this is stooooopid! Using Google Chrome I get signed out of Blogger, a Google product, each time I navigate to a new page, even my own. The same holds true with my Google+ page. However, everything works as advertised after I figured out how to launch this dog of a browser, Internet Explorer!

  2. I can't post a comment when I am on IE but I have no problem using Firefox.

  3. Once my blog was deleted and I was super sad! But I managed to get it back the same day after notifying the Blogger! Pure luck!
Yesterday a friend's blog was deleted and he also managed to retrieve it after exchanging messages on the phone with Google.
And when I can't comment on a blog, I try to get all browsers...

That's it! I hope to see you more often...
    A warm hug, honey!

  4. I've had some troubles like you and it seems to be a very random thing and I have no idea why it's doing that. I am back to Fire Fox right now because like you I have trouble and find myself trading off browsers when that happens. Sometimes I wish that instead of a bunch of new features we could just get something stable that worked...always trying to improve the wheel seems to leave us with four flats all too often.

  5. Gee I don't know, Chip.... I haven't had any trouble. I am a mac-user so that helps. I use Firefox... I've heard that people have had trouble when they use IE... I can't believe you would be having trouble though since you use their own product, Chrome... Weird!!!! Sorry... Hope it clears itself up soon.

Have a good weekend. I loved your SNOW photos on a recent blog.

  7. And I like Joes idea of something and one thing that worked. Life would be so simple. Just like one camera one lenes instead of everyone having different ones and having to always have the best. Just my random thoughts on a snowed in , snow bound day

  8. It seems to be working again, as long as I use Firefox or Internet Explorer. Chrome still signs me out as soon as I navigate away from the dashboard and won't let me post any comments, not even on my own blog!
